Joanna was inspired to go into nursing by her grandmother, Anna Waters, a self-made woman who became a licensed practical nurse and home healthcare nurse provider. 

Now with 20 years of experience, Joanna founded Perfect Care Nursing to take care of other people’s family members with best-in-class service. 

Through her experience honed in some of the toughest clinical settings imaginable, as an emergency room nurse and dialysis clinic manager, Joanna is passionate about making sure people take their health seriously and encouraging them to do so with love – and maybe sometimes tough love. 

Joanna received her B.S. in Nursing from Clayton State University and an MBA from Strayer University. 

Before founding Perfect Care Nursing, Joanna was an intern emergency room nurse at Grady Hospital, an in-home nurse and the clinical manager of a Fortune 500 dialysis clinic. 

She brings this extensive expertise to bear when hiring and training Perfect Care Nursing’s care providers, assessing patient needs, working with families and leading the company.

Joanna’s inspired to help people improve their lives through health. She’s a leader and inspirational speaker who can speak to diverse audiences about diet – especially the lessons she learned after a decade working in a dialysis clinic – as well as the importance of exercise, self-care, self-love and the major gains people can make through personal improvement. 

Joanna also plays an active role in her community, serving as the health ministry leader for Spread the Word Christian Ministries, coordinating the inaugural AKA, Inc./Tau Epsilon Omega Health Summit, and volunteering at HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Joanna learned the value of education and the value of providing care to those in need from her grandmother and Perfect Care Nursing’s mission reflects those values.
